VWS Public Service Mission Statement
Our mission is to expand our leadership and organizational infrastructure to assist and serve our community by providing communications assistance to emergency management agencies and public service agencies.
VWS Public Service Group Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a group highly skilled amateur radio operators, recognized as an effective and reliable organization that is capable of providing multi-mode communications for served agencies during emergencies, disasters and public events.
As part of our public service efforts, VWS contributes in the following events
Marine Corps Marathon

- James Madison HS Turkey Trot 5km race
- American Legion Post 180 Giving-Thanks 5 km race

As part of our Emergency Communications efforts, VWS has established a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fairfax County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). See here
