Become a Member & Join VWS!

Anyone interested in amateur radio may join Vienna Wireless; you do not need to have your amateur radio license in hand, and you do not have to live in our local area!

Membership Benefits

Meetings

We have regular meetings on the second Friday of every month, and you may attend either in person or via Zoom. Meetings are recorded and can be viewed on Facebook or Youtube.

Events

The club has several operating, public service, and social events every year. Field Day, which is always on the last full weekend in June, is our biggest operating event of the year.

We usually participate in the North American QSO Party events that are held twice per year in each of Phone, CW, and RTTY modes.

Other events may include picnics, Fox hunts, and sometimes a special event featuring a distinctive call sign.

Nets

Club members conduct a number of weekly nets using a variety of frequencies and modes. The Monday night net on 2 Meters is the most popular, and the Echolink interconnnection makes it accessible to those out of range of the club repeaters.

Gear Sales

Buy or sell ham gear at our annual Winterfest hamfest. We also provide removal and sale services to estates and hams relocating.

MENTOR Program

The Vienna Wireless Society (VWS) has a Mentor program designed to assist members, especially members new to amateur radio, who would like a little help with questions that relate to amateur radio. This program pairs the Club member with a more experienced member of VWS (Mentor). Mentors volunteer their services, so a member knows that his or her Mentor is ready and willing to help. Mentors don’t necessarily have all the answers, of course, but they will help where they can!

Club Badges and Clothing

Information on name badges is here. Sales of club shirts, jackets, etc. are announced periodically.

How to Join VWS

Joining (and maintaining membership in) the Vienna Wireless Society costs:
